What Is Pre-Construction Termite Treatment?
Pre-construction (or soil) treatment creates a continuous chemical barrier between the building and the soil beneath it, blocking the route subterranean termites use to enter. The treatment is applied in stages that follow the construction timeline:
- Foundation stage — treating the sides and bottom of foundation trenches and column pits
- Plinth stage — treating the soil fill before the floor slab is cast
- Perimeter stage — treating soil along the external walls after construction
